By accessing or using the BoldReader website (the "Site") or the ebook conversion service it provides (collectively, the "Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and BoldReader ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

BoldReader is a free tool that converts EPUB files into "bold reading" format to help you read faster. All conversion happens entirely within your web browser using client-side technology. Your files are never uploaded to our servers and never transmitted across the internet to any infrastructure we control.

3. No Account or Payment Required

BoldReader does not require an account to use the Service. We do not offer paid subscriptions, tiers, or billing of any kind, and we do not charge for use of the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

As a user of BoldReader, you agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and these Terms. You are solely responsible for your conduct and the content of any files you process through the Service. By using the Service, you explicitly agree to the following:

• You will use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
• You will not use the Service to process, convert, or manipulate files that violate any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights of any third party.
• You will not attempt to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security of the Service, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running the Service.
• You will not use any automated means, including but not limited to bots, scripts, or scrapers, to access the Service for any purpose without our express written permission.
• You will not upload, transmit, or process any files containing viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
• You will not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise derive the source code of any software used to provide the Service.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates this provision, including without limitation, removing content from the Service and reporting you to law enforcement authorities.

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality, including the bold reading algorithm, are owned by BoldReader and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the files you process through the Service. We do not claim any ownership over the content of your files.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of the converted output.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall BoldReader, its directors, employees, partners, agents, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BoldReader and its employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses arising from your use of and access to the Service.

9. Termination

We may restrict or discontinue your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
